Syar Industries’ construction materials, including its readymix concrete products, aggregate products, and asphalt paving materials have been a key part in connecting the cities and neighborhoods in the greater San Francisco Bay Area with their use in such major projects as the Carquinez Bridge, Monticello Dam, Indian Valley Dam, and Benicia Bridges as well as being used in the repair of the Bay Bridge after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. In addition to spanning these waterways of the region, Syar’s materials have been used in federal and state highway projects and city and private roads. Syar materials have also been used in US Military construction projects at Travis Air Force Base and Mare Island Naval Shipyard. Syar’s materials can also be found in such famous landmarks as the Port of Oakland where 400,000 tons of Syar’s rip rap line the shores of the Oakland Inner Harbor and the Castello di Amorosa where Syar’s signature brown building stone was used to construct the castle.
